6. Use of Google Analytics 4

Based on our legitimate interests, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, or if you are a habitual resident of the EU/EEA or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Google).

Google Analytics 4 uses cookies that are stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) and enable an analysis of your use of our website. This enables us to evaluate the usage behaviour on our website and to make our offer more interesting by means of the statistics/reports obtained.

The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States or Ireland.

We use the User ID feature. User ID allows us to assign a unique, persistent ID to one or more sessions (and the activities within those sessions) and to analyse user behaviour across devices.

With Google Analytics 4, the anonymization of IP addresses is activated by default. This means that your IP address is shortened by Google within Switzerland or the EU/EEA before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

Google uses this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services related to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics 4 will not be merged with other Google data, according to Google. When you visit our website, your user behavior is recorded in the form of events (such as page views, language settings, your “click path”, interaction with the website) as well as other data such as your approximate location (region), technical information about your browser and the end devices you use or the referrer URL, i.e. via which website / advertising material you came to our website.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your website use (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on available at the following link to deactivate Google Analytics 4: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

This sets an opt-out cookie that prevents the future collection of your data when you visit our website. In order to prevent the collection by Google Analytics 4 across different devices, you must perform the opt-out on all end devices used.

An overview of the data use in Google Analytics 4 and the measures taken by Google to protect your data can be found at: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Further information on the terms of use of Google Analytics 4 and on data protection at Google can be found at https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/us/ and https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
